History

The History Department teaches a range of courses from Key Stage 3 up to Advanced Level. The skills required for success in later years are fostered in the junior school when pupils study a range of topics in local, Irish and British history. On entering Year 11 pupils follow the GCSE syllabus provided by CEA and in the Sixth Form both lower and upper sixth pupils also follow the CEA syllabus.

There are currently forty pupils studying History at Advanced Level and five former pupils studying for a degree in Modern History at various United Kingdom universities. In the last two years a further seven former pupils have graduated with degrees in Modern History.
