Sniffing Sid in Retirement
One of the distinctive features of drama in Ballycastle High School is that any pupil who wishes gets the chance to take part and the recent School Play was as usual entirely home produced.

It was written in school, pupils and staff made the scenery, controlled the lights and sound and were responsible for make up, costumes, publicity, props and everything else that goes to make for a really successful production.
The show was performed to a series of highly enthusiastic packed houses and after a whistle stop tour of the highs and lows of the sixties we were all finally relieved that Sniffing Sid was re-united with his special specs and is currently enjoying the quiet life in Ballintoy.
Dizzie, Lizzie, Scottie, Smudger, Abba and Cadabra are spread over these islands furthering their education along with their gothic adversaries – Mad, Sad and Bad.

For the rest of the pupils school has returned to some form of normality – much to the relief of Mr Harpur and all the staff.
With more than half of our pupils involved in the play the memories of Sniffing Sid will remain in school for years to come.
