Design Research Streamlining in Nature We looked at a number of different animals which are quite streamlined and fast to help with our research. We used their shapes to help us start our design work for our car. They all have very sleek, curved backs, sloping from their heads which gave us a starting point for our initial ideas. We also looked at the shape of the roadrunner’s head down to the tip of its beak. Internet Ideas F1 Car Research We took a look at how Formula 1 race cars are designed. We seen how they had been designed to be given a very low ground clearance and how they use the design to push the car down onto the ground. We also saw how the design had given the car a low wind resistance factor. Aerodynamics Research It is the aerodynamics which offers the best potential in F1. Designers have to devote a lot of their time and effort into taming the airflow and generating downforce.
