“The good news about computers is that they do what you tell them to do. The bad news about computers is that they do what you tell them to do.”

Ted Nelson

The ICT department at Ballycastle High aims to equip pupils with the fundamental computer skills required in modern society and employment. The KS3 curriculum is designed to provide pupils with an overview of both ICT and computing, leaving pupils well placed to study either Computer Science or Digital Technology at GCSE should they choose to. With respect to post-16 options, Level 3 OCR Technicals in ICT is a popular choice.

The ICT department is also active in extra-curricular competitions including CyberCenturion and CyberFirst. Additionally, Coding Club meets on a weekly basis, with this year’s focus being web development.
